Description & History
Greely Woods is mostly wooded, has a meandering stream that runs through it, and is within walking distance to several neighborhoods in Cumberland Center, Main Street, and the Greely school campus. Greely Woods used to serve as wood lots for private landowners, although there has been no logging on the property for several decades. Acquired in the 1990s, the Town held on to the three parcels that make up Greely Woods because of their proximity to the town center and recreation potential and in 2019 worked with CCLT to protect the parcel with a conservation easement. Greely Woods has an extensive network of trails through the property (waterproof footwear is recommended).
