For the past 445 million years, horseshoe crabs have emerged from the ocean to lay their eggs on certain sandy beaches like the one at Broad Cove Reserve. This annual family-friendly event celebrates this phenomenon and provides opportunities to handle horseshoe crabs and learn about these unique creatures from from marine educator and horseshoe crab expert Carol Steingart of Coast Encounters. Please note that horseshoe crabs are completely harmless; they don't pinch, stink or bite.
