CCLT Trail Crew

  • farwell forest Blanchard Road Cumberland, ME United States (map)

Join us on Saturday, May 6th (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM) for a stewardship work session at Farwell Forest.

We'll meet at the Knight's Pond parking lot on Greely Road Extension and hike to the Farwell Forest trails.  Our task will be to trim overhanging branches and do a general clean-up, especially on the trail on the SE property line.  Loppers, pole saws, fiskar saws will be the tools du jour.  FCT will bring tools to share but please feel free to bring your own.  Bring water, gloves and insect repellant too.   All ages and abilities are welcome.  FYI it's about a 2/3 mile hike from the parking lot to the place on the trail in most in need of work.  Questions?  Contact Jonathan Dawson at steward@ccltmaine.org

Farwell Forest is accessible from Blanchard Road in Cumberland along a right-of-way on the northeast side of the Blanchard Road about 3/10 mile southeast of the intersection with Bruce Hill.  The right-of-way follows the southeastern edge of a large field before linking to the trail network on the protected property.

All ages and abilities are encouraged to come and participate!
